Yellowstone is a big national park. It is in the USA, in the state of Wyoming.

The park opened in 1872. It is the first national park in the world!

The park is very big. It has about 9,000 square kilometers. That is about 3,500 square miles.

Yellowstone has geysers. A geyser is a hole in the ground. Hot water comes out of the hole. The water is very hot! It looks like the Earth is breathing.

The most famous geyser is Old Faithful. It shoots water into the air. The water goes up about 50 meters high. That is about 165 feet high!

It does this every 90 minutes. Every day. Every night. Always!

Yellowstone has many animals. There are bears. 🐻 There are wolves. 🐺 There are bison. 🦬

Many people wonder why we have hair on our heads. Do we need hair?

We have hair for important reasons. Hair keeps our brain safe. It keeps us warm in cold weather. It also helps to cool us down when it is too hot outside. Hair keeps UV rays away from our skin. UV rays are not healthy for our skin. Hair can be like whiskers to warn us of something dangerous.

In the past, hair probably helps people choose the right partner. These days it is not so important. But we have hats. They can do the same job as hair.
